World food day with Michael Kors!

world food day michael kors.jpg

Last week saw Michael Kors campain for world food day, raising awareness of the issues behind poverty and hunger. World food day occurs every year so Kors thought this was the year to go big and that is exactly what this campain did! The #WatchHungerStop tees were given out for free in New York, Berlin, Tokyo, Hong Kong and Rio de Janeiro Michael Kors stores on the 16th October. Many celebrities have been pictured getting involved sporting the tees. You’re probably thinking, what was the catch? There isn’t one it was Kors’ way of spreading the word. You could’ve even had your picture taken in the photo booth which was then sent to your phone so you could share the moment and spread the word. In my eyes this was a brilliant campain!

To make this campain even better Kors used todays technology and social networking to his advantage incorporating the hashtag into the tees made the whole world talk about them. The pictures taken were even streamed live to many digital billboards in Times square, can this get any better? The only thing i wish is that the campain was brought to the UK!

Paris Fashion Week continues!

Paris as seen some of the high end fashion greats hit the runway so far at fashion week, some of my highlights include Maxime Simoens, Celine, Cacharel and Christian Dior these designers (aswell as others) in particular caught my eye and i’m sure you’ll agree. I love the use of embellishments around the necklines on Christian Diors Spring Summer 2014 there are a combination of prints used all with beautiful colours. Colour, why shouldn’t a spring collection be full of it? Cacharels next spring collection is also full of colour with this bold print collection it instantly lifts anyone’s mood, I in particular love the mixture of silhouettes used. The runway saw an explosion of graffiti used as a bold print in Celines spring collection seriously how could you not love this? Maxime Simoens was a black and white strut with a design feature being fringed leather which i LOVE. Well done Simoens!

Paris Fashion Week!

Over the last couple of days the capital of romance took to the catwalk to showcase their collections for next spring its been a pretty spectacular month for fashion and Paris is the icing on the cake. Some of my highlights so far include Balenciaga,  Barbara Bui and Nina Ricci. I’m sure you’ll agree. Balenciaga has curved and cropped silhouettes with a sportswear flair, i’d even go as far as saying ‘j’adore cette collection de mode’ so my french might not be brilliant but you get the idea! Barbara Bui’s collection is a vision of white, blue and orange with quite a masculine take on next springs trends. Now for my final highlight of the week so far is Nina Ricci with the garments involving chiffon ruffles, sequins, pleats and florals and that’s just the prints and textures, what’s not to love? Paris is so far living up to its expectations. Enjoy!

Mother of Pearls next spring collection is a zesty masterpiece with the use of fruit prints combined with stripes i absolutely love this vibrant modern twist.  Franceseco Scognamiglio has used subtle prints and embellishments to their advantage i love the use of embellishment on the sleeves paired with the use of white and pastel tones seen throughout this collection. Who would have thought the use of portraits would look so eye catching on garments, well Prada showed us exactly how it can be done! Don’t you agree? Blumarine showed the catwalk beautiful textures involved in the collection with the use of white used well again! I think it’s safe to say white is a massive trend next spring! My final highlight so far at MFW is Dolce & Gabbana what an outstanding use of print in a variety of fabrics, so bold and fabulous it was so hard to just chose a few! Don’t worry it’s not over yet! Highlights from the last two days at LFW!

Can you believe it? It’s over already? Some of the designers that have showcased over the past two days include Ederm, Tom Ford, Stella McCartney, Thomas Tait, Christopher Kane, Marios Schwab, Burberry Prorsum, Peter Pilotto, Osman just to name a few. I have put together some of my highlights from over the past two days at LFW. Osman’s spring summer collection for next year is the kind of clothing i would love to wear to work, sophisticated and sheek. j’adore. Peter Pilotto also showcased this fashion week and we welcomed the vibrant colours and silhouettes with open arms. Its safe to say sheer fabrics will be a massive trend next spring and this is also seen in Thomas Taits work it gives the collection an edge, completely changing the look. Burberry Prorsum was a major highlight for me i’ve never seen a collection so pretty from them a combination of beautiful lace, pastel colour palette and stripes and spots which i absolutely LOVE.

J.W. Anderson’s next spring collection bared a bit of flesh on the runway. His line is a combination of manipulated fabrics and prints with some of the shapes in the silhouettes reflecting geometric shapes i love the circular print cropped trousers.

Julien Macdonald’s collection had a baroque look creating grand designs, the colour palette included silver, gold, blues and black the collection was filled with embellishment so glamorous. Whats not to love?

Sunday saw Preen by Thornton Bregazzi hit the runway and what a contemporary fresh breath of air this collection was. I loved the use of the digital print and geometric shapes used within the pieces. I just love it, don’t you?

This collection oozed class Emilia Wickstead has designed pieces that look like something royalty would wear with a fresh colour palette a piano print was also used in some pieces towards the end of the show added fun.

I love the use of stripes within this collection with the use of sheer fabrics in the Mulberry collection. I also love the use of bold and subtle prints found within the garments i in-particular love the subtle printed blouse seen with the bold jacket and shorts.

I loved how feminine Temperley London’s collection was when i saw the line it made me want to get all dolled up, the combination of texture and embellished fabric used is stunning. Don’t you agree?

Topshop Unique, who doesn’t love topshop? I loved the skirts and colours used within this show of the collection i love that the designs in this line you could see people walking down the street wearing it, I think they did a brilliant job.

Mary Katrantzou what a collection! Every woman i know loves shoes so i know they will love this collection! She used laces, eyelets and blown up brogues used as an abstract print. Shoes are one of my favourite fetish when it comes to accessorizing, you can never have to many pairs!
